A magical country in the heart of East Africa, home of safari and the land of Masai Warriors. Full of culture, stunning landscape, wildlife and some of the most amazing communities you will ever visit.

A country of two halves that will educate, exhilarate and motivate YOU to Travel, Volunteer and just do good in this big old world!

Get involved at the heart of the community, meet our partner projects, share your skills, (and learn a few new ones) and help with our long-term goal of changing the lives of hundreds of children living in Nakuru.

MELON MISSION

Melon Mission is a family run project. Bishop Joseph Kagema sadly passed away, but the Melon Mission and his legacy has been continued by his wife and his children. Without their commitment and passion Melon Mission would not be where it is today.

SILVERBELLS

Silver Bells Children’s Welfare was founded by Director Margaret and Pastor Daniel in 2007 when they saw that there was a need to start a project to help the orphans and destitute children in their community and beyond.

LITTLE KINGS

Little Kings was founded by Lucy Mwangi in 2007 following the postelection violence where many families were displaced, and several children were found on the streets. This is a new project for YTA and we look forward to supporting them across the next few years and making a positive impact.

Our trips to Kenya predominantly are about supporting our 3 partner schools and helping children and young people. Whilst volunteering with us here are just some of the things you could do to help!

SHARE YOUR SKILLS

Are you excellent at a specific subject or have a special skill, step into the classroom to share these with the children.

SPORTS, DRAMA OR DANCE WORKSHOPS

Got a passion for Sport, Drama or Dance, so do our schools in Kenya, they would love to get involved with different workshops.

ASSISTING WITH FOOD PREPARATION AND SERVING OF FOOD

Help the cooks, to prepare food, and help serve the children their meals… 500 children is a lot to get through!

LOW SCALE MAINTAINENCE WORK

Get stuck in with some maintenance work from digging space for foundations to moving bricks there’s always something that needs doing.

PAINTING AND RENOVATING

Help keep the school looking bright and colourful for the children, giving them a positive learning space!

BUT ULTIMATELY, IT’S ABOUT YOU MAKING A DIFFERENCE

“This trip was one I will never forget. It’s a huge learning journey as well massively heart-warming! I am training to be a teacher and it made me think about education back at home and my values as a teacher. The activities whilst being there were amazing and something that completed the trip for me! Kenya now has a very special place in my heart” – Rebecca Atkinson – University of Winchester
