10 Reasons Why you should volunteer with YTA!

  1. It’s good for your health!

Yes, it really is scientifically proven that by helping people and making a difference, it has a positive impact on your body, helping to reduce stress an anxiety.

  1. It’s a career booster

Stand out in a pile of CV’s, by enhancing it with your volunteering experience.  By taking yourself out of your normal surroundings you are showing employers that you are willing to take risks and go the extra mile, along with so many other qualities.

  1. Share your skills… and learn some new ones!

Whilst volunteering you can take the skills you have and share them with the communities you are working with whilst volunteering.  You never know the skills you have to share, could change a life, or even save one! And in return our communities will of course share their skills with you.  Be ready you could be singing & dancing, learning a new language and so much more.

  1. Find your passion

If you were to speak to any of the team here at YTA you will be able to see that all of us have a passion for travel and helping people. And most of us discovered this passion on YTA trips!  Take your self out of your everyday life to find something new and exciting.  Whether it turns into sponsoring a child, a change of direction in your career or a new-found love for travel.

  1. Make a difference

Now, this is what we are ULTRA passionate about.  Every single one of our volunteers makes a huge difference to the communities and partner projects we work with.  From renovating, building to teaching, sport coaching every one of these activities is bettering the life of the children we support through our partner projects.  And what’s more, to sustainably support these projects, the help doesn’t stop when our volunteers leave, we are in partnership with Younite Foundation to ensure that the schools received vital funds for food, water and other important resources.

  1. You will make new friends

This is guaranteed, whether you volunteer with us as an already existing group, joining a brand new group of solo travellers, or as a solo traveller on your own, you will be making friends with people from different walks of life, with different interests, and from different communities.

  1. Become part of a community

This is a given, when you come on a trip with us and support our partner projects you are instantly welcomed into the community.  Not only that, but you are then part of the YTA community.

  1. Challenge yourself

Take a step out of your comfort zone and embark on a new adventure.
